I would like to unlock this so that I can olay region 1 dvds, any one know how?

All Sony Players or Recorders Cannot Be Hacked with the Handset supplied with them

Sony Genuine Items need a Set of Sevice Codes sent via a Programmable device like a One For All Remote ...Palm Pilot etc.. to make them Region Free

Do not worry about the Player Headings the Codes are Universal

If you think that The Methods Covered are too much or too complicated for you to attempt then you can always use the services of a "Chipping Company" who will be able to supply you with a One Use Remote Control to send the Service Codes.

Sorry but that website is talking total nonsense! You do NOT need a internal modification for this model! Its simply modded via a set of commands from a special factory remote, which you can obtain via a google search for your model and hack, or by checking out earlier posts on this forum.

Same applies to Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, etc. They can all be modded via various means, WITHOUT opening the unit, but not with a code entered via the units own remote.
