Has anyone got a multi region hack for phillips dvdr3440h if so I would be really grateful if you can help me out and let me know what it is.

Your Player Recorder is listed as Having NO Hack

Try This One all the Models with the Prefix around yours uses the Hack below

To Confirm Current Region

Turn On Player / Recorder & Wait Until Display shows No Disk
Using Remote Control Press 0 0 0 9 and Press OK

The Region Code the Machine is Set to wll be Displayed on Screen

To Change Region

Turn on Player / Recorder
Wait Until Display Shows NO Disk
Using Remote Control Press 0 0 8 6 0 0 0 and Press OK
Open & Close Disk Tray

NB If Region Specific is Required for any Reason Repeat Hack and Change Last 0 (Zero) for 1 ~ 6

NB There is NO On Screen Confirmation at Any Time

To Verify New Region use Region Confirm Option described at top of the Post

Tried the above and it has seemed to have worked, the only thing that did not seem to work though was when I first put the 0009 code it nothing came up on the screen. I thought I would carry on and see if it worked when I put the 0086000 code it and it did. I now have a multi region dvd player. Thanks for all your help.

Help please I followed the hack and seem to have beggered up my brand new DVD player. How do I undo the hack??????????

How has it Beggered up your Player?

Not sure there is a way to Undo the Hack

You can Return it to it`s Original Region by Re - Applying the Hack and Changing the Last Zero to the Region Required..ie 0 0 8 6 0 0 2 for Region 2

It is a Common Hack to a lot of Philips Recorders and normally works well?

If you Recorder is Brand New just take it back to the Shop under Guarantee

Worked for me too - Just no Onscreen display at all - Not even Region Code

:) Really grateful for this hack. It worked for me, but it was necessary to turn the unit off and then on again after opening and closing the tray. Great - I now have a multi-regional dvd player! Thank you.

It worked like a dream! Nothing on screen. The DVD player never even blinked but then I put the region 1 back in and this time it played without question! Fantastic.

Now another question. After using this hack how will the dvd player write disks?
