Have you tried the Alba RDVD1002 hACK
OPEN DISK TRAY, MAKE SURE EMPTY
CLOSE DISK TRAY
PRESS TV/DVDR
PRESS RETURN
PRESS DISPLAY
ENTER 8880
MESSAGE APPEARS ON SCREEN SAYING REGION-FREE!
