Maxim 11-65 LCD tele/dvd combi hack wanted?
Hello all
I have an elderly friend who has just joined the 00`s by getting himself a new television/dvd thing. (Personaly think he was mis-sold it by Curry`s, but that`s another story >:( )
He has bought one of the Maxim things mentioned in the title, a 11-65 which is a 20" LCD with a DVD built into the back of it.
Problem is it seems to be locked to region 2 (most of the cheap DVD players I`ve had have always been unlocked or have been easily done), but I can`t seem to find one for this :( .
Assume that Maxim is another name for somebody else`s product, so if no one knows of a regoin hack for the above then if you know who the manufacturer is it might help me find a hack for him, if you see what I mean?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. :)
RE: Maxim 11-65 LCD tele/dvd combi hack wanted?
Works on 11-36 & 11-40 model. So May work 11-65
Please let the Forum know if this works
Turn TV on and select a channel using TV
On the remote press the red DVD/TV button
then press the white DVD button underneath.
Open DVD tray
Press SETUP button
Press menu arrows, one at a time, in this order: Right, Left, Down, Up
Press DISPLAY button
Your screen should now display the DVD welcome screen plus the region code info.
Simply press 0 on the remote to show 000 on the screen.
You`re now region free
RE: Maxim 11-65 LCD tele/dvd combi hack wanted?
Just a big thankyou to Warlock666, worked a treat for me on this tele/dvd.
Couple of the buttons are not on this remote control, but you didn`t need them anyway, I entered the following;
Turn TV on and select a channel using TV
On the remote press the red DVD/TV button
DON`T put a disk in, it will say "open" on the top left of the screen
Press SETUP button
Press menu arrows, one at a time, in this order: Right, Left, Down, Up
Press DISPLAY button
Your screen should now display the DVD welcome screen plus the region code info.
Simply press 0 on the remote to show 000 on the screen.
You`re now region free
It did leave a figure "0" on the screen that wouldn`t go off no matter how hard I tried, it was just at the top centre of the screen. It stayed there even when I set the region back to "2". Set the region back to "0" and then turned the tele/dvd off and it seems to have cleared it and it now plays all the discs I have :)
Don`t know if I am supposed to list this as a hack on a different part of this site?
Thought I would just reply to this and hope that someone else knows where/how to move it to the appropriate page, if that makes sense?
Once again, thanks for your help, it`s made my elderly friend very happy.
