Can the Pioneer DV-444 be hacked, or does it need to be chipped? Also, any insight on the Aiwa 370 which can be hacked manually-maybe it`s just easier to buy the Aiwa, or will there be a difference in quality between the two?

actually steve that isnt true of pioneer players anymore... a lot of the new players such as the dv-340/343 can be hacked via the remote control.

I am not aware of any remote hack for unmodifed pioneer players ... you sure you arent referring to switching regions on a modfied player using the display and condition buttons
