The rowa dvd machines that were sold by asda have started to be replaced by another machine that looks exactly like the rowa but in black instead of silver.The new name for them is pacific p dvd1000.They still sell them for the same price as the rowa(£99.94)but i wonder how this effects the warranty(3yrs)whether if your rowa breaks you,ll get this one as a replacement.Incidently on inspection of the back of the unit it looks like the non pioneer version (no service port)so if you were looking for a hackable player then it might be possible to exchange units.I think steve hoyle suggested that the non pioneer versions might be a minoto g1./wharfdale.I have the pioneer based version and am pleased with it as i think the ability to back up your discs onto tape is more useful than region free. cheers OSCAR2
