Try this one it is not the actual Hack for your player as I cannot locate one ..it may work...you never Know

1. Make sure there is No Disc in the DVD Player

2. Turn DVD Player Power On.

3. Press Repeat. (NOT THE REPEAT A-B BUTTON)

4. Press Numbers from Region Code List Below depending on Default Region

5. Input 9 to activate MultiRegion or 1 - 6 for Region Specific

6. Open and Close Disc Tray Once.

7. Turn power Off / On again. It`s done.

Regional codes:

These numbers are to be used in Step 4, the number you use depends on the Default Region of the Player you are Hacking

For example if your player is Region 1 by default then the numbers needed to be pressed in Step 4 is 2,9,3,3,4

RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

Thanks Hackeroonie - I haven`t actually got this model, but it`s one I`m looking into (I wanted to be sure it could be made multi-regional before I bought it).

If anyone has one, or can help with the hack, please let me (us) know...

I just shared the multi region hack for the brother of your player. The manual for my Samsung HT-TP33 also is for the HT-UP30 so the same hack must work. Use the Samsung HT 150 hack, it should work!

I bought the HT-TP33 5.1 home cinema at christmas. (It is the sister model to the HT-UP30 which is in the same operating manual)

I have never looked back! It is really cool. Doesn`t play mpg unfortunately, but plays DivX (AVI) as well as all the other formats on CDR, CDRW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW... absolutely spanking! I love the USB port on the front as well... it`s a great way to quickly put your pictures off your memory stick onto your TV. I like that it does both DVD+ and DVD-... seems that not many players do this and I like the flexibility.

I used the Samsung HT 150 hack .. before a region 1 DVD wouldn`t play, applied the hack and then it did...

Thanks for the info Zob! I`m pretty sure it will work. Also, I`ve been looking at the region hacks for the other Samsung home cinemas/all-in-ones and they ALL have the same hack (the HT 150).

I really want a home cinema system that has an optical input (for Dolby Digital 5.1 sound from Sky Plus) - and the HT-UP30 was one of the few I checked that had one... :)

I have the ht-up30r gonna try out the ht150 hack tonight. Does anyone know if the hack disables macrovision also? If not anyway to do it?.
