Hack for Philips DVD-712 needed

Hi guys!
I m just buying a Philips DVD-721 Region2 and i would like to know if there is a safe way to make it region free and RCE free too, without any danger of locking up the machine! Does anybody know for sure ?

Unfortunatelly, you should update firmware. But it is totally safe ;-)
