hi do you know how i can play a vcd on a home Samsung 511 DVD player it tells me in the Instruction manual that it can play them but when i try to it says NO DISK.
id be grateful if you could tell me. Thanx

It can play VCDs.
However, it can *only* play "pressed" (i.e. commercially produced) compact discs - it cannot play home-recorded CD-Rs or CD-RWs at all. That`s a technical limitation of the 511, you`d have to buy the more expensive 611 model if you want to play those.

I believe you may get some kinda result if you use Vivastar CD-R`s from Argos....but don`t quote me on it! These have been known to work with Samsung`s before....

i`ve got a 511 and havn`t found any cdr`s that will play but as u say commercial vcd`s play perfectly ok julie
