Hi there. I`ve recently located the hack for the Hitachi DVP305E but since following the steps nothing seems to happen. I`ve just seen your message which U posted onto DVD Reviewer about the PERMANENT hack so I was wondering that since the temp hack worked for U, could U possibly help me. I have followed the steps below, but cannot seem to get a code to appear (as said in the last paragraph)

This hack should also work on the Hitachi DV-P305e, DV-P315e and Samsung DVD-M105, DVD-M205, DVD-M405, DVD-511, DVD-709, DVD-809, DVD-909, DVD-611 and DVD-811 players. If the language option doesn`t appear on your Samsung player then you could attempt the Samsung V5000 hack listed above.

Switch on unit and ensure no disc is in the machine. Press and hold the `Play` and `Stop` buttons on the players fascia until the language menu appears then release. Choose the desired local language from the menu. Press `Repeat` then enter one of the codes below for the native region the player is already set to:-

Region 1: `2`, `9`, `3`, `3`, `4`
Region 2: `3`, `8`, `7`, `6`, ``7`
Region 3: `5`, `6`, `7`, `3`, `2`
Region 4: `7`, `6`, `8`, `8`, `4`
Region 5: `5`, `3`, `8`, `1`, `4`
Region 6: `2`, `4`, `4`, `6`, `2`

A code will appear indicating the region setting of your player. Press `9` for region free, `1` for region 1, `2` for region 2 etc. Press the `Open/Close` button on the player to open the tray. Press `Standby` on the remote to close the tray. When the player is turned back on it will set to the new region. If the player subsequently freezes on the FBI warnings then press the `Forward Search x2` to skip.

If I can find anymore about the PERMANENT hack, then I`ll let U know, but I would appreciate some help with the TEMPORARY crack to get me going.

Many thanks

Graham.

Spacehiker,

See this thread:

Unfortunately, if you have an older firmware version, you won`t be able to do the described hack without upgrading the firmware.
