Hi What is the difference between DVD player saying Unknown Disc and No Disc??? My DVD player supposedly plays region 2 DVDs,MP3,VCD,CD. This happenss even when I play Region 2 DVD and Regin 0 DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don`t actually say which of the two messages it is you are getting! The main reason for getting a `no disc` message is when the disc is damaged in some way. An `unknown disc` message could be a number of things. Maybe the player doesn`t recognise it, eg a data disc or SVCD disc when player can`t play these. Alternatively your region 2 and region 0 discs may be formatted using PAL or NTSC - a format your player is unable to cope with?

Hi I am new to use of DVDs. The player I have is Pacific DVD1002(region 2) I did try to hack it ,but it does not work. It gives No disc and some times unknown disc mesaages to some DVDs. All Mp3,VCD and Cds work fine with it. Some times DVDs claiming to be region 2 too fails to work in it. How to chk for NTSC/PAL?? What is macrovision?? Any suggestions to improve functioning of my DVD???
