I`m new to this is der any way to hack Sony DVD players to make them mulit-regional and if so does anyone have some models they know how to hack?

Sony never make it easy. For most players and some recorders it has to be done with a special remote control, the newer recorders ie GX200 can be done with a disc (which i have done with mine if anybodys interested) Let me know if you need to borrow my control or upgrade disc.

i have a sony dvd/vcr combo and that wont play multi region or copy from dvd to video where as the panasonic dvd/vcr combo my brother has can copy from dvd to vcr

Hi all, if anybody needs a copy of this disc can you email me (click on my user name, then the postbox) and i will sort it out, this disc is just for the RDRGX210 to make it multiregion, i haven`t been able to try it on any other Sony machines yet.
