ok, Im trying to convert my DVD player (Lasonic DVD-1100) to be region free. I found the hack code, but I just would like to know if Region 2 is the same thing as PAL. Basically, would a PAL disc play on my DVD player if I made it region free even though I live in the US, or is PAL and NTSC something diiferent from region codes?

if you make your dvd player region free it will play pal and everything else.

Region 1 discs will be in NTSC whereas all region 2 discs will be in PAL.
Most if not all European TV`s can accept a NTSC signal, most North American TV`s & DVD player`s are not capable of handling the PAL signal.
The only (quick\cheap) way to get a Region 2 DVD to play in the US without buying multi standard TV & players would be on a PC.
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
