PLEASE HELP!!! I`VE JUST BOUGHT THE SAMSUNG 511 AND CANNOT HACK IT. I HAVE TRIED THE 709 HACKS AND IT DOES NOT WORK. CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW TO HACK 511? THANKS A LOT!!

The hack does work. Check you have followed the instructions carefully. One thing I have noticed is that you have to enter the hack before NO DISK appears or it doesn`t work.

Karl, Is the hack you are talking about for region code and macrovision copyguard? Did you use a remote control for the hack? Did you use the new 709 hack?

I used a "One for All 5" universal remote (£29 from Argos) and followed the new 709 hack method. Two points. It doesn`t disable Macrovision and you can`t make the hack permanent. No problem however with R1 movies.
Just made an auto chip for the Hitachi 305 which by all accounts is the same as the Samsung 511 so it should also work on this model .. auto region by connecting 4 wires from the chip to the board ... no need to mess with the remotes
