As for the stupid woman comment i think not i did not have the dvd player on standby i simply suggested this as some hacks require you to keep the dvd player on standby why don`t you try doing your home work next time and maybe you would have known this.

Tim i hope you have sorted your problems out with the dvd player if not i will gladly help you without the sarcasm which i am sure would be much more helpful after all this is a help forum Allan.

If you had read my later comments you would see that i was also very generous with mypraise for the fairer sex......now about helping people........

I DO!.....and i have done since my discovery back in OCT 2000........i get at least ten e-mails a day asking the same questions...and i try and help everyone.......BUT...you must undestand how annoying it gets when people are too lazy to search through the forum.........

I did try and help Tasha...but i didn`t recieve a reply from her as to how it went......it just seems like people get the info they want...then bugger off and never return to thank me (or whowever)........

as for being warned?....when did this happen......?.....I wrote an e-mail to the ADMIN complaining about certain individuals preventing me from helping others......I recieved an e-mail remindng me that i shouldn`t rise to "flames"............but please don`t make yourself sound like nightclub doorman!.........and remember....we are all entitled to opinions........the internet is a place to express yourself without interference.....

anyway....that`s my moaning finished.....let me get on with helping others with Philips questions.........

oh and for those who are interested......there is a new philips model that plays MP3s.....and the firmware MAY be compatible with some older models.....i`m busy working on that!....
See YAH!

Hi Tasha

At the risk of attracting a whole load of grief (!), can I take you up on your offer of help!

I have a Phillips 701 and the original remote control that came with it. I woudl like to know what I have to do, including whether I need to buy another remote, in order to change it to multi-regional.

I have read the instructions on this site but, being a non-techie, they mean very little to me.

My e-mail is yttabnacnud[at]moc.liamtoh

Best wishes

Duncan
