can somebody please help, why when i put in the hack for my phillips730, does my player play region 1 discs in black and white, is there any way to get a colour picture. Even the start up menu is in black and white, my tv also only has one scart socket.

You need either an NTSC to PAL converter that plugs between your DVD player and your TV, or a newer TV that can display in NTSC mode.
