:o Are you able to hack a sharp dvd player? If so I have a Sharp DV-RW250 and cannot find the hack anywhere to make it multi regional. The shop assistant said it was possible, but I am now beginning to have my doubts.

Sharp players are generally unhackable, with the sole exception of the year 2001 Sharp DV740, and that only by virtue of the fact it was an OEM player made by Sampo.

I am afraid you have been misled by the sales assistant as the sharp Model DVD-RW250 cannot be hacked. Although this model is an OEM product you would require firmware to change original settings.

Any idea where I can get a copy of the firmware required? And if so, does it also include a macrovision bypass?
