Looking for Toshiba DVD player hacks

Here`s hoping one of you wonderful people can help.

I`m looking for a hack, crack and/or firmware update for two Region 1 Toshiba DVD player models (SD-K740 and SD-K510) to allow them to play Region 2 discs (or multi-region discs) as well.

There`s been info on here about doing a Google search for the firmware info, but so far the links lead to no longer existing sites and/or advertising sites.

Thank you in advance for any help you can render.

Greetings!
i was wondering if anyone ever provided "Pixel" with helpful information?
Pixel, if you have found any info re: Region 1 Toshiba DVD player SD-K740 to allow Region 2 or Multi-Regional play, PLEASE let us know. It has been 5 months since Pixel posted, and i have the problem here in May of 2005 of not being able to play a set of Star Trek Next Generation DVD`s i purchased & received from Europe, that are encoded in Region 2 codes...
If anyone can help, please do so. Others will need this info, too. Many Thanks!
Respectfully,
masterloucks

Hi,

Did you ever find a hack for a Toshiba SD-K510?
Also, do you know which DVD is the best that allows for other regions, has a recordable component and has the VHS as well. Thanks,

hope this helps

I used the Toshiba SD-220E hack that can be found here,
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Toshiba+SD220E

It works fine for the region 3DVD I`m playing so far.

open the tray
type 2403960
press enter repeatedly to cycle to region 9
close the tray
turn the player off
turn it back on

When I type your suggested number string, using the Toshiba remote, nothing seems to be registering on the player. No menu comes up..... nothing. Did I miss something? A step not mentioned perhaps? Thanks.
