Page 1 of Mutli region hack needed for Alba DVD50Xi

Just bought one today, can`t see a hack on the list so wondering if anyone can help

I also brought one of these recently {£29.99 - tesco}. When i connected it, switched it on and opened the dvd drawer it acted peculiarly. The drawer opened and closed about 3 times from one press on remote. It then calmed down.

Any road, this appears to have made it multi-region `out-of-box` as they say. I put a region 4 disc in and it played fine.

Might be an idea to turn your machine off and on again if it only plays region 2`s.

Open tray
Press 2,8,1,2
A service menu will appear
Press enter until 9 appears in the blue bar for region code
Close tray
Your player is now multi region

Hello,i`ve just got myself the alba dvd50xi player and used the hack you posted.
But it is only playing in black & white can you help with this problem as it is upseting trying to watch your fav films with out colour.

Just bought this player after seeing there was a hack avalible, but tried :

Open tray
press 2812

all that happens is a line in the left hand corner pops up & pressing 9 does nothing.


Anyone help ?
