Hi Peeps
I was thinking of buying what i concidered a real bargain from Aldi for a Tevion Home Entertainment System for only £59.99.
Dvd player and surround sound system. Model no TCHT 2000
is it possible to make this unit multi-region as i have a vast collection of discs from different regions. (Bit of a cdwow/playusa addict lol).
I have read in some posts that there is some outstanding problems where you can use the hack to get to the region screen but cannot change the region??
Something to do with a glitch in the chip firmware ??.
Any help is much apprieciated.

You don`t need a hack my unit plays region 1 & 2 works real well sound is execellent from such a cheap unit I recomend you Buy one before they sell out.

Yep, I just bought one of these little beauties today, and although it says "Region 2 only" (or words to that effect) in the manual and elsewhere, it freely plays any region disc that I`ve tried (and I`ve tried quite a few so far - just to make sure).

So basically, go and buy one and be happy!

I can only second and third the above messages; I bought one this morning and tested it with at least 10 R1 disks, which all played flawlessly straight out of the box - no hacks required :) . The quality for £59:99 is outrageous - the bits and pieces, speakers and leads, that go with the DVD player must be worth more than that! 8)

Do these Tevion theatre systems play movies from DVD-R discs and SVCD / VCDs?

Will pick one up if so!

Whats the sound quality like for playing CDs etc?

It plays DVD-R`s VCDs & SVCDs

However, not sure if anyone else has this issue, or can offer some advice....the volume to the external speakers is really really loud. I can`t put it above "04" without annoying the neighbours. I`ve tried using the Channel Trim etc. yet it still doesn`t make a difference.

The vol on the DVD player goes up to "60" - but there`s no way I`m trying that!

Any ideas?

Picked one of these up - one thing if you`ve got a big room you`ll need more speaker cable.

Anyone else get the noise (slight humming) from all speakers whenever they are on, even during playback?

It`s annoying innit...have the volume too low and the spatial distribution seems to suffer, too high and the neighbours want to kill me! ....all I can think of is to turn off the boost on the treble and bass (never used the Super Bass - I like my house in one piece!)...gonna try tonight...

Has anyone had a problem getting all of the speakers to work. We are on our 3rd unit and have had speaker problems on 2 , the DVD drawer wouldnt open on the other .
