HELP for DVP NS730P region 6!!!!

Maozidonge (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 16th September 2004, 03:14

I`m located in China, region 6. My player used to be multizone but during minor repair at Sony workshop they switched it back to region 6 saying that it was illegal for me to own multizone Sony player!!!

Tried all methods proposed with PDA and 5 buttons sequence. But nothing happens. DVD powers up and back down. No "Success" message. I assume that the codes provided are specificaly designed for region 2 players...

Still doesn`t read zone 2 DVDs
Anybody has any specific NS730P hexadecimal button code sequence to propose for a zone 6 based player???

Thanks a lot for your help

Sony DVP-NS multiregion remote hack
Here`s a hack that should work on all the DVP-series players from Sony.
You`ll need a palm pilot!!!`

go here http://dev0_2000.tripod.com

And follow his directions, this worked like a champ first try on my PALM iiixe.

This is incredibly easy... Just load the remote.prc and the Sony_DVD_hack.pdb (from the unzipped files you downloaded to your PC earlier) to your Palm pilot. Load the remote from your palm`s home and select the sony hack in upper right corner and follow the directions.

In case this link http://dev0_2000.tripod.com is broken here is the text:

Thanks to Dev Null whomever you are!!!!!!!
You need a PDA running the Palm OS. I used a IBM WorkPad (a.k.a Palm III).
You need the OmniRemote application from Pacific Neo-Tek. (http://www.pacificneotek.com/)
Then you need the OmniRemote style I made. (http://dev0_2000.tripod.com/Sony_DVD_hack.zip)
Put your DVD-player to standby mode (main power on and red light).
Push programmed buttons sequentially from one to five (the player starts up).
Do it again: Push programmed buttons sequentially from one to five (the player goes back to standby).
The player should now be multiregion.
Though I had to do it a few times, and you might have to push the buttons two times for it to work. good loook

Thanks for the message. I`ve tried all this but my player still remains unable to read zone 2 disks.
You see the DVP NS 730P does not have a standby light. I think the sequence is fine its just the hexadecimal codes are not working on my machine. I`m looking for the codes details that work on my machine...
Thanks for helping anyway
