Page 1 of Hack for Alba DVD-108 ??

Hi,

I`ve got an Alba DVD-108 for the kids in the play room. Anyone know of a hack which will convert the player to multi region ?

1. This player should be region free straight from the box.
2. If you are still unable to play no home region discs then try the following:
3. Press PAL/NTSC.
4. Press Menu.
5. Press 0.

VCD Hack:

1. Open the tray.
2. Press 2, 8, 1, 2 and Enter (a secret menu appears).
3. Push in the tray with VCD on board.
4. Wait a second and the stop icon appears on top left of screen.
5. Press 1 and VCD will play.
6. Beware: UK retailer Argos are selling the Alba 108xi which looks similar, but alas, is not multi-region out of the box. See below for the method to beat that one.
There is now a DVD108/D model, which can be hacked using the VCD hack above, then use Enter to toggle between options.

Alba DVD 108/B and Alba DVD 108/D cannot be region hacked though....

Region Code Hack for Alba 108xi

1. Power On.
2. Open Tray.
3. Press SETUP.
4. Display the CUSTOM SETUP menu.
5. Press 3333.
6. Select Region 0 from the menu.

We have some Region 3 DVD`s with Baby Einstien stuff for the kids off Ebay. They do play however, they jump a little and the picture movement is not particularly smooth.

Hence why I thought perhaps it needed to be converted to multi region.

If the player is not multi region, would the player not even recoginse the dvd if it wasn`t region 2?

I`m new to the dvd game, so forgive my ignorance..........

hi - dont mean to be a pain - but i tried those hacks and the region 1 dvd still isnt workin on my alba - can sum1 please tell me if they have tried it and its worked? because im really confused! :( thanx!

My parents have got the same problem. they can plat all recored dvd`s but not region 1. I have the same problem myself with the `alba dvd55`. If i find out how i will let you know.
