Page 1 of Multiregion yes, but region free?? Philips 711 & LG DV8731

Seems to me that "multiregion" and "region free" are being inter-changeably used even though they are two different things.For example I have just sucessfully used the lg 8700 hack on a lg dv 8731 and the machine appears to be region free now playing any dvd I throw at it!.But I also own a Philips 711, I used the Philips 750 hack ...it worked making the player "multiregion" so it plays regions 1 and 2 only. I`m begining to wonder whether there is a hack which could make the Philips region free if anyone knows plz let me know its much appreciated!
So I think it would be great if all the hacks told us which regions the player will open up to! fussy I know but I am a granny!!
