`Chipping` players

I`ve just ordered a Denon AV-F100 system after much indecision trying to decided if I wanted a separate`s setup (based around the DSP-A5 & Pioneer DV636D) or the stylish approach of the Denon. In the end the Denon won because I`ve quite a small lounge and I really liked the idea of the NXT mission build flat panel speakers - that and a good review of the AV-F100 in What Hi-Fi.

Anyway............ Now I`ve ordered the thing I`ve been reading some of these forums and looking around at the price of DVD`s. Only a month ago multi-region support wasn`t something that was high up on my shopping list, but I`m now quite interested. I`m pretty sure that no handset hacks exist for this player, but up on techtronics.com they list an `upgrade` that I can have them install for £100. This seems a little steep, but I was wondering if anyone has used techtronics to have their DVD player chipped and if so what did they think of the service and have they had any problems playing R1 or other region disks? Also, does anyone know of any other sites that offer this service?

Try dvdchips.co.uk

They "chipped" my JVC and were approx £20 cheaper than techtronics.

Steve - any plans to support this model in the future? I probably won`t get it chipped for a couple of months. Perhaps you could drop me a mail at ecirb_nahtan[at]moc.liamtoh if you add support for this model at a later date.

Cheers,

Nathan.

Well I aim to support as many models as possible but to be honest it`s just not possible to support them all .. this is the first time i`ve ever heard of this player so I`ll need a lot more enquiries before I even consider supporting it

It`s part of the Denon AV-F100 system that includes the NXT flat panel speakers. It did the review rounds in a number of mag recently but it`s a £1200 system and so will never get as many sales as a £200 DVD player.

If you`re at all interested there is a couple of mag review up online at:
