Make sure the player is connected to the electrical outlet, powered OFF
On the remote press <DVD>
Then press <1> <2> <3> <4> <5>
The display should now say SUCCESS
Then press <1> <2> <3> <4> <5> again and the player should return to powered OFF state...
If this doesn`t work, you need a programmable remote control.
