Need hack that works to change the region on my Pacific DVD-1002

Hi, I have a Pacific DVD, Model no. DVD-1002 and have tried the hacks from this site, but to no avail... :/
When I use the first hack, when I press `clear` on the remote I get the `stop hand` display signal, so it won`t allow me to continue. When I use the second (if the first hack doesn`t work, then try this one) when I get to the setup screen, I can`t press the 1 button on my remote control, nothing happens as there is no option 1 that you can select!!
I`m hoping someone can help as I`ve bought some DVDs from Thailand that I`d like to play. >:(

Hi Don`t know if it`ll help, but this is what I did. Take any DVD out of the tray, close the empty tray and turn off using the remote ( so it`s on standby). Power on from the remote, eject the tray, then use the remote to type in 1369. Then type 00 close the tray and switch off. When you switch on again, hopefully, the DVD will be multiregional.
