Page 1 of LG DV2000 st DVD/VIDEO COMBI MULTI REGION HACK?

i have a problem with region unhacking Lg dvd video combi model number : DV2000st

I was told any hack for the LG 500 series would work on my unit.

I have tried the remote control hack via the LG 5000 series hack and that did not work.

Then i tried the load disc method for the same LG 5000 series method.
This was with unloading a zip file & loading it on a cd as follows.

Step 1

Download the file lg5000.zip by clicking on the link:

Step 2

Unzip the file lg5000.zip. It will create a directory folder called RMTM0000.


Step 3

You need a CD Writer to write a new disk with the files you`ve just unziped (RMTM0000 folder).


Step 4

You need a CD burning software (like Easy CD Creator, Nero, CD Clone, HP RecordNow, etc....) to make a Data disc.


Step 5

I`ve read not to use a 700mb capacity CD-R, but mine worked just fine! For information, I used a Memorex CD-R 700MB 24x. This speed (24x) I think is the key to success, not the capacity or size of the CD-R.


Step 6

Using the CD burning software, create a Data disc and add the directory folder RMTM0000. That`s all you need !
*** When burning the disc do not use DirectCD ***


Step 7

Switch "On" your DVD player and TV and insert the newly burned disc. When prompted select "0" for multiregion and then ENTER. Power off and... it`s done!

This loads a system program on the dvd. When the program comes up and then i try change it to region 0 it will not accept it and comes up with ERROR 3 invalid region.

I wonder if you have any knowledge on this unit.I am desperate to play my usa & japan dvds. If you could help i would be very grateful.

Hi... :/

I`ve read from a few places that this hack described above would work also on Aiwa AVJ-X55 player, and it does until I take the burned data cd out of my player.. So I can change the code, or so it seems, it`s just that I can`t see any confirmation of the code been changed. And as I said before, when I take the disc out, the code is the same as before, region 2. So this is what I did:
1.burned the directory (speed was more than 24x, possibly 32x, I`m not sure)
2. put the cd in my dvd player
3. menu opens: "region code management test mode"or something like that.
so what`s with the TEST MODE thing?
4. I choose code 0 with the remote, "code 00" appears on the screen of the player
5. I press pause, cause that`s the only key(I think) that does anything in this stage( so enter has no affect in anything)
6. The text "code 00" stays on the screen until I take the cd out or turn the power off. After this everything is the same as before step 2.

So what can I do, or what did I do wrong? Please help me!

Folks

Have you tried this hack

Go to Setup (Press on the Remote)
Move down to Highlight the Padlock Logo (4th down)
do not move across to sub menu just press the 0 (Zero) seven times and it will appear that you are now Region Free

Download the File from the Link Marked this zip file (5KB size) (As it says it is a Zipped File) ..once downloaded it is called LG5000.zip

Unzip the File...once Unzipped it becomes a Folder Called RMTM0000 and a Text Instruction File ...Burn the Folder RMTM0000 ( NOT the Text File) to a CDR (as a Data CD) ...Put the CDR into your Player and follow the On-Screen Instructions..And Job Done.

Sometimes The Hack is Forgotten on Powerdown which is what appears to be Happening On the Aiwa...If you find this is the Case then Go to this Page

And download the 6000 Update (ie Click on the Picture of the DVD Player that is just above and to the Left of the Numbers 6000 about halfway down the Page)....and Follow the Instructions as above.
