Big Harj (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 23rd February 2001, 21:18

I`ve just bought the above payer from Tesco, however I can`t seem to find any info about it. It`s seems that 3000E is only aval. in Tesco ??

Is it re-branded as something else and now for the obvious questions

Where can i find a region hack ?

Can it play VCD`s (I have`nt any) ?

Regards

Big Harj

hi,
i also have the 3000e and can confirm that the lg3350/aiwa370 region hack works fine, also firmware display hack works o.k.
the newly "discovered vcd hacks also seem to work apart from the players inability to read cd-r or cdr-w media???

I just bought a Tesco LG 3000E today and the LG 3200E hack worked for me. If you don`t know it already:

Switch power on with no disc in tray
Wait for NO DISC dsiplay
Press PAUSE
Enter 314159
When CODE appears in display, enter region code you wish to view
(I found that Region 1 lets you view Region 2 discs too without having to switch back - smart)
Press PAUSE
Switch OFF

Other stuff you asked: I`ve only ever seen the LG 3000E in Tesco, but Scottish Power & Comet stock other LG models. Manual says it won`t play VCD, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-extra, CD-G, CDi or photo-CD.
Outside of these limits, it seems an okay budget player. PAL playback of NTSC discs is very handy.

Hope this is useful,
Steev

I also bought LG DVD-3000E from Tesco and have tried the 3200e hack without success. Anymore ideas.

Well, we could start by calling the hack it`s TRUE name, the Aiwa 370 hack!!

Anyways, try the firmware display hack and see what firmware is in you player, if it`s above 1.2 it should accept the hack ok.

The aiwa 370 hack does work with the lg3000. I tried it again tonight and on the fourth attempt it worked. So the secret is to keep trying. Set on region 1 it also plays region 2 discs.

Good Luck
