Posting made by skippy_dvd on 19 Dec 2003 covers this. I haven`t tested it personally (as I don`t have any non-region 2 dvd`s to try it with) so would be interested in hearing how yu get on

Cheers! Seemed to work Ok, I haven`t any non-region 2 dvds at the mo to try it out either but I was able to change the setting to region 0 so I`m assuming it`s sorted. I didn`t have to follow all of Skippy`s instructions, just the first bit: Press setup on remote control, then I put in the code "1369" and it brought up the region change window. I then changed it to region 0. The part about the new item "VERSION" appearing in the menu didn`t seem to happen for me, maybe it`s for a different model I don`t know I`m quite new to all this. REGION HACK WORKED BUT CD FORMAT IS RUBBISH

WOULD NOT PLAY VCD1.1 ,VCD2.0 ,SVCD ,JPEGS, AVI FILES

BUY A YAMADA DV6100 @AMAZON WHICH TOOK OVER FROM THE DV5520
OR BUY A AIWA AD-AX10 OR 36 WHICH ARE GOING CHEAP @ PRESENT PLAYS ALL FORMATS .

PS DONT BUY THIS PLAYER .......(i took mine back boxing day)

but it did play region one .....horray a good point
