Superb portable DVD player at Argos, the Venturer PVS-166W.

It seems great value at £199.99. Anyone know anything about it and
if it is MRegion hackable?

1. Turn on the Player from the Player, not the Remote.
2. Open the Tray
3. Using the remote control, key in the following: 8, 1, 3, 2, 8.
4. Press Enter to cycle through Regions 1 to 6. *9* is Region free
5. Press the Return key to close out the command

Thanks so much for the reply.

Does the player remember this setting, or do you have to re-enter it each time you turn on?

Also, do you own one? If so, what do you think of screen quality, sound, usage, etc.

Thanks again.

I just bought one this morning for my son who is on dialysis and gets bored having to sit still for hours at a time!! As far as I can see the player seems to remember the settings. The picture quality is good and the sound although quite tinny is okay as well. The accessories included in the price are excellent, the carry case is great with room for a few dvds.

(We had a Tiny portable player but it got nicked in Rhodes, it was very good too.)

Thanks for the replies KirstyMac.

Hope it makes your son smile and get through a rough time.

How about adding some decent earphones to the equation, this may improve the sound!

Good luck and thanks again !
