Page 1 of Region Code for ALBA DVD108/D (ALBA AVA108)

I have just purchased an ALBA DVD108/D from Argos.

To my dismay it won`t play DVDR that my older DVD108 did quitte happily :(

I have tried all the hacks listed in this forum, here`s my results...

PAL/NTSC > MENU > 0 - Nothing happens

Setup menu - no CUSTOM MENU option to use 3333 on

Open Tray > 2812 - I get the following screen.....

Loader Version: 03.37
Player Model: ALBA AVA108 - I`ve not seen this number in the forum!
Player Version: 03.01.140J

Has anyone come across this version yet?
Is there a way of making it multi-region so it plays DVDR

Hmmmm
Seems that some of my DVDRs work and some don`t.
Looks like it will play DVDR out of the box!

VCD/SVCD is still an issue though!
