I`d be thankful for any info. I have one hack that doesn`t seem to work right. It`s the one where you have no disks in, hit set up, go to general, arrow down once, and then hit display. When I arrow down once I am on the Advanced or Basic selection for the set up mode. I hit display and nothing happens. If you can email to jbor[at]moc.trebmaj that would be great. Thanks!

On all Pioneer Players you need a modification, there is no remote hack without it. After the modification you can change the region as you sayed.
There are many of the pioneer players come already modified for the resellers (they modify the players themself before selling them) that why some peoples think that there is a simple remote hack for this player.
The DV-C302D can be modified e.g by ChipTech (www.chiptech.de/dvd/) (macrovision off + regioncheck disable + regionswitch (needed for the RCE DVD`s))

Thanks for the info. I can`t read German and the translation site I used still made it unclear. Know of anywhere in the USA? I`m a little leary about sending my DVD player to another country.

Jambert, I was looking for something similar for the Pioneer DV-525 model. and discovered what Mr. W had to say. The British site techtronics.com sell a kit for my system (you should check for yours and its in english) but requires soldering on a surface mount board which is nasty without the right equipment. They will modify the system for you if you like and sell models already done. However, the mod they sell for my system still leaves the requirement of a multi-system TV for the output is in either PAL to PAL or NTSC to PAL. I have not yet seen a North American source for this sort of mod, and would need to get the multi system TV which is harder to come by in North America. By contrast nearly everybody in the UK sells a multi system set which can take the output of such a modified DVD player...

I should probably know this, but even once you change the region coding, how do you deal with the fact that non-US disks are often PAL (at least the European ones)? I have tried this on my US Magnavox 825 and even if I force output to NTSC using a PAL disk, I still don`t get a usable signal.
