Please Read - Last ditch attempt to hack Goodmans GTV34RDVD!!

I`ve cobbled together a basic webpage showing some of the screen shots from my GTV34RDVD - could anyone who`s managed to get the hack working please take a few seconds to have a look at it......? Just to let me know if the menus are as they are supposed to be or, as I`m suspecting, whether the chipset has changed?

It would be very much appreciated.......link is below

Thank you very much in anticipation!!!

Wow... yea that screen is different to the standard Roadsatr 1437 units.. looks like the
chipset has been changed along with the pin code. can you try this hack, as its valid
for a new RS dvd player.. it probabyl won`t work, but what the hell..
1. Switch on the DVD screen
2. Open the dvd tray
3. Press and hold the Volumne UP+ button for more than 2 seconds (on remote)
4. Immediarely after, press the languages button
5. A hidden option of code=2 will appear on screen
5. Use the arrow down button to change to Code=0 (for region free)
6. Press enter
This is valid for the Roadstar DVD 5104 home cinema system which is very new (not
sold in the UK as yet), but it uses a new chipset.

My remote doesn`t have a `languages` button....... maybe the `audio` button instead on the UK version? Also, what screen should I be performing these actions from? The `General Setup` menu screen or the first screen listed on the web page I made?

Thanks for all your help so far......

Maybe I can add a bit to the already muddied waters.

Bush - Goodmans and Alba all appear to belong to the same group of companies, and appear to have a lot of their stuff made by a company called mico.

The various Goodmans and Bush Service manuals I have so far suggest that there are at least 3 dvd decoder boards.Which one happens to be in your DVD/TV combo depends on what they seem to have had in stock at the time.

In fact so much so even one of the service manuals is confused (GTV51DVD).Starting off using the CS98010 chipset one and switching to the Zoran QFP160 Processor (ZR36700)/mpeg decoder (ZR36710) mid manual.

The three boards that I know of are as follows

Boards 1 & 2 made under Licence from Starlight

Board 1 - CS98010 based - menu system similar to that shown here.

www.adl528.com/referrals/referred.htm?Link12

Board 2 - Zoran QFP160 Processor (ZR36700)/mpeg decoder (ZR36710)

Board 3 - made under licence from Ravisent Technologies and uses the STI 5508

I don`t know which one of these other two relates to the menu system shown here.

homepage.ntlworld.com/tracey.sturland1/dvdsetup.htm

I also don`t know how the Roadstar 1437 fits into all of this.

Perhaps someone could post pictures of the Roadstars 1437 menu system and if possible it`s associated chipset from the info above.

Some of the Info retreived from the following service manuals

Bush DVD140TV
Bush DVD141TV
Bush DVD142TV (for some reason marked AK46)
Goodmans GTV51DVD

Jeremy

For info specific to cs98010 based players visit my website www.adl528.com. I`ll also try and extend it to cover dvd/tv combo`s which aren`t necessarily using this chipset.

Service Manual just arrived for the GTV14DVD.

Circuit board used for the dvd player is identical to the Starlight Kotron DVD-101 and so is the remote control.

Also the second page suggests that the unit is a P1420-IVVD1 which can be found somewhere on www.starlight.com.hk

ok so for GTV14DVD hack maybe same as kotrons which is

open drawer press stop 1456 followed by region number or 0 for all.
Perhaps someone will let me know if this works.
Also seen recently suggestions that open stop 1369 followed by region number or 0 for all.
If you have this machine could they let me know the firmware version under setup - others - version - Thanks

I`m still awaiting the manual for the GTV34rDVD
