Page 1 of HACK for Naiko N1170A for Playing VCDs

We have a Naiko N1170A and want to play VCDs. Does anyone know the hack for this. We have done the one for Multi Regional

What code have you used to multiregion your player? I have just bought two of these N1170A players and have not been able to get to any secret screen/page. Could you let me know exactly what you did?

Hi there Mike, I bought a Naiko 1170A after convincing myself that it was multi-region etc and hoped that the hack posted on various sites was correct. Unfortunately, the one I followed (re: jake II) doesn`t work. I did find a separate "preference menu" which can only be viewed in you enter setup with the CD tray out.

Would you be kind enough to tell me what the correct hacks are for this machine before I end up taking it back to the shop.

hi dawn , im sorry i cant help you our naiko plays vcds, but not multiregion, can you please tell me how you got yours to play multiregion

No hack is needed to play VCDs but to make it multi region , open the disc drawer, press setup and you get access to the preferences menu (most right hand icon) items such as TV type,PBC etc,enter the supervisor code (which is given in my manual for setting ratings in parental control) of 49540 , this brings up a grey box which says region code with a value in it, change it with the up /down buttons, setting it to 0 allows all regions , then press the play button to set it, the screen then returns to the preference menu. You will find it now works on all region discs, changing the country region in this menu has no effect. :)
Still looking for a hack to disable macrovision..
