Page 1 of LG DV1000 Multi Region Hacks

I have tried the various hacks posted on this Forum, ranging from:

Pressing Pause, then 314159 then 0 then pause again.

Downloading software, buring to a cd and then inserting it gets me to the region test screen and upon pressing 0 I get and error telling me there is an invalid identification and I have to turn it off.

I`m getting pretty desperate now!! Does someone please have a hack I can use remote or otherwise that will enable me to watch the US dvd`s I bought for my niece!!!! Please...

I would be greatly appreciative, really.......

:) The only true way to region free these combi units is to use a disc to update software. I`ve done this on my own one and it works well. If you want to try my disc email me and I`ll send it to you.

I would very much appreciate a copy of your disc, in order to convert my LG DV 1000 combi DVD/VCR. I have tried some of the suggestions of altering the codes by pressing pause and entering 1472 then changing the code 0700 to a recomended code, but it has not worked.

Yes i would definately recommend this machine for the price it is excellent value for money and plays most discs.
To make region free please go to http://www.area450.co.uk/lg5083hack.htm and follow instructions to the word.(The DV1000 uses the same deck as this machine).It will work.This is how i did mine.When burning the file to disc do so at a slow speed.(i don`t know why this makes a difference but it worked for me!)
I`ve done 5 other machines with the same disc and all is well.
It even plays rce discs.
If anybody has problems or doesn`t have a cd burner and wants a copy of this disc just email me renlim.ydna[at]moc.dlrowltn and for a small fee i will send you one.
If anybody is interested the company i work for can supply these multiregioned machines at a good price.
