Anyone know a sight that holds firmware for this dam machine, I got one a couple of weeks ago which wont remote hack using its own remote and I dont want to get a multi remote incase it wont work either?
I have a firmware file for this player but I dont know if it is remote hackable or not ... you are more than welcome to it if you have an eprom programmer and will check it for me and mail me details of the remote hack if it works .. I may then consider selling these chips to the people who are afraid to loose their warranty by fitting my auto region modchip ... I will make the file available free to anyone who asks if it works but those who cannot program their own chips will have to pay me for that service ..

Steve, good idea! Unfortunately, I do not have EPROM programmer and cannot help you... But if you verify it is hackable, post thisinformation here, please! What version number do you have?
I sent it to MikeG who has put it for download .... someone try this firmware to see if it is remote hackable .. you of course need an eprom programmer

If the eprom is dated before August 2000 it will not work. This is not my verdict its from the Japanese. Leave it with me.

Have you downloaded the file Hitchi505v123Multiregion With this file you copy it to a cd writer and upgrade the firmware using the CDRom. If not give us a shout and i will email it you . The file is on a link in the hacks page on this web site
There is no magical way to flash an eprom .. it has to be removed , erased under UV light and reprogrammed

Great Idea apart from the fact that the 305 is a Samsung player and not Hitachi. Yes the 505 hacks works on the 505 which is Hitachi.

If you have an EPROM programmer, you may want to try the 4.xx Samsung firmware versions available on my site too. The 611 firmware version 4.05 is definitely hackable - I`d be interested to know if it works on the 305.
