Page 1 of HELP! Proline DVD 1000 Hack Problems!!!

Please can someone help with this! The Hack for my Proline 1000 doesnt seem to work!!

I can manange to get a picture but the picture is all messed up with 3 big lines going through the middle! I have changed all my scart leads around etc to make sure it wasnt them but still to no avail!

Please Help!!

your lucky, i can`t even get the hack to work. i just get the region map telling me it`s the wrong disk type??????
Complained to comet cos they sold it as a multi region dvd and there sending someone out on tuesday to look at it.

hurray. engineer called out from comet today and confirmed what i already new, that the player was region 2 only.apparently some of the old firmware players slipped through the recall net, and i bought one.Took it back to the shop and argued the toss for 45 mins about wether it was actually faulty or not, the sales guy denying that he sold it as dual region ( suprise )......anyway to cut a long story short i told them i was the senior technician at pcworld ( which i am by the way ) gave them some crap about being mis-repped me and they swapped it for a samsung dvd-511, and discounted the extra £30.
So you all know whats coming next :-)............is the samsung a better model and how do you play region one disks on it.

Well done mate, the hack for the samsung is in the multi region info on this site, it is primarily (or a spelling just like that) for the Samsung 709 but works with the 511 aswell. Oh considering you are from PC world you will probs know this one, how much is a CDR/CDRW/DVD Combo (Good one but fair priced).

Thanks for the info Jase, got a remote hack from www.709online.com, gonna try it and see if it works.Heard rumours on the net that the 511 plays mp3`s as well but i`m struggling to find any info or specs apart from the sales pitches on resellers sites.
The best combo drive we sell is the toshiba at £189, but try the website cos there always cheaper and the stores have to price match.But to be honest i get all my stuff from a company at www.cclcomputers.co.uk. there the cheapest store i`ve ever seen, at the moment there selling 256mb PC133 Sdram for £77 inc vat....absolutly amazing.
They do the tosh drive for £143 inc vat, give em a shot you`ll be amazed at the prices.

Can you believe it!! It was my TV, it wasn`t NTSC compatible, which is weird because its a newish 30inch wide screen bush. Dodgy! Now I have to watch region 1 discs in the dinning room on the stupid little 15inch screen! Hump!
