More Wharfedale problems

Got a 750S for Christmas, well pleased with it playing the R2 discs I`ve tried. Got Leon R1 today, so tried the hack for the first time. After trying them all, it seems I`ve got a first generation 750S, as Pressing ZOOM, A-B, Up, Down, Left, Right brings up the "Region Free" message.

However, after pressing "1" four times, and then once more to select region 1, "No disc" still comes up on the display. I used the "ZOOM, up, down, left, right" hack to reset it to default, which seemed to work, but now all my R2 discs are showing up as "NO DISC" too.I`ve tried all the hacks listed for the 750S to restore it to normal, to no avail. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

oh heck.. That sounds like a bit of a problem.
I also have a 1st gen 750S and I had problems with the hack but I did get it to work.
The region free hack works fine for mose disc`s unless it`s hollow man or that pap will mel gibson in you know RCE discs.
After changing regions I always restore to the factory defaults before attempting another one. The key to getting the dedicated region 1 etc hack working is this. Get youself right up next to the right hand side of the player as you look at it. Hit the open/close button on the remote. But most importantly do not wait for the tray to open. As soon as you hit the open/close button you should be tapping in the 1`s. You will see the **** apear on the screen. The hack must be compleated before the tray opens. If not then the hack hasn`t went in. Another thing is that my player didn`t tell me that it was region one at all, but it readaly accepted the hollow man disc, whereas before it warned me about the RCE coding. To get it back to region two I`d do the factory defaults, or even the dedicated open/close 2222 2 hack. Good luck.
NB: if you take it back to the factory defaults it should brifiely display a dodgy number, at teh top of the screen begining with a "Z" I think standing for the zorren chipset. see ya..........

I know you were all worried (ahem),so let me update you on my problem. The engineer came round and told me the processor was knackered. I guess it was just a coincidence that I discovered this when I was trying the R1 hack. Managed to track down the last Wharfedales in the area after phoning a few Tesco stores, and exchanged it. Unfortunately, all they had left were 750`s, which was a bit of a bummer. Apart from the horrible, spongey remote and the GUI , I`m pretty happy with it. No problem with R1 now, or Jaws etc. Fingers crossed.
