Page 1 of Confirmed Hack for the Phillips LX8000

I’ve seen the hack with a RC6 below floating around various forums for a while, but confirmation of the hack as been a bit sketchy. I can now confirm that the hack works perfectly on my virgin untouched player with no problem what so ever.

HACK

With a suitable remote (one for all 4in 1 / 6 in 1 etc)

Step 1
Set op codes for the DVD as per normal (I had to phone the oneforall help line to update my RC6 as the usually 0539 setup did work for my player.)

Step 2
Press DVD button

Make sure player can be powered up from the remote (which means the setup code is right)

Step 3
Press MAGIC button once and the `DVD` button should flash once.

ENTER 085

ENTER 222 222 005 255 Play

Step 4
Power DVD off for 10 secs

Step 5
Power up

Five speaker display MUST be evident and the `multichannel` option should be still evident in the menus.

Player should now operate R1 and R2 discs with Surround working....well mine now does.

Hi - did you try the previous hack for the LX8000? I tried it on my new LX8000SA and have now lost the 5.1 cinema sound! Do you know if this new hack restores the 5.1 sound or any other ideas how I can reset my player back to it`s original state?

No I didn`t try any other hacks my machine was region 2 fresh out of the box.

Andy if you go to www.dvdanswers.co.uk and go to the hardware forum I think there is a soultion to your problem.

Mav - Thanks for tip. After my last post I found this on another forum and "play 159 221 030 08 play" has restored 5.1 sound on my player.

Think I`ll buy a oneforall remote and use your hack as this seems a safer bet!
