Page 1 of Help..BUSH DVD 142 TV COMBI DVD/TV CODE REQUIRED

ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW THE HACK CODE FOR THE BUSH COMBO DVD/TV(DVD 142 TV).

Hi IKKY,
Heres the gen :-

Press the tv/av/dvd button until the dvd screen appears
then press the open/close button on the remote (leave the tray open)
press the stop button first on the remote(thats the one with the square on it)
then press 1 9 9 9 one number at a time (slowly), then a menu should be displayed. Region should already be highlighted with the region number outside the box,press enter and two little arrows will appear next to the region number. Use the up and down arrows on the remote to change this number to ALL then press the open/close button again and you should have a multi-region player.

This hack also works with the bush 141 and the goodmans hybrid that looks identical to the 142 except the base panel is grey

hi colin.
i`ve tried your code for bush 142 dvdtv,nothing happens when i push the stop button(one with square on it),i just can`t get the menu on screen,
am i doing something wrong?..

Like mrvhs, i am afraid i had no luck with the code.With DVD functions activated, i opened the tray and
then hit stop button(blue square on remote next to play), the code 1 9 9 9 however no menu appeared.

Any ideas would be much appreciated?

The BUSH DVD/TV is a 14" purchased from Asda and has "BUSH DVD 142 TV " labelled on the box if this helps.

does your player play vcd.but no sound with svcd as mine does?
i have been trying for ages to get help with this,but no-one seems to know
how to remedy this.i shall watch your post to see if you have better luck.

that strange..i don`t seem to have any problems with VCD`s(sound is perfect) however i not yet used a SVCD(not heard of this before).
anyway good luck with this.Let us know if you find out how to set your Bush system to Multi-region.

I cant really help you much further with this as what i have posted for you already was what i used to open my own one. I also used this method to open a goodmans model as well and both are working fine.

Heres the settings that my tv has within the setup menu:-

LANGUAGE :- osd - english
audio - eng
sub - eng
disc - original
VIDEO :- system - pal
asp - 4.3lb
output - s video
AUDIO :-analog - 2ch
digi - lpcm
drc - on
bass - on
CHILD :-level 8

Once you have checked these settings exit the setup menu then using the remote only, use the method i already gave you. (push the buttons slowly)

Try this and let me know if you get it

sorry,, but still no menu,the menu for changing to all region will just not appear on screen.

This 1999 hack sounds like the hack for a Roadstart TVD-1437XT unit.
Don`t think it will work for a Bush unit.

I am guessing that the BUSH is a badge name only. TRY THIS:
I think I have it. Was in Ireland last week and discovered that the Goodmans DVD/TV combo is a Roadstar unit with just a different badge name. So this multi region hack may work (the 1999 hack is valid for older Roadstar units);
1. Put into DVD screen mode.
2. Press the DVD setup key and have this set on-screen
3. use remote to key in 1369, then immediately press the left navigate arrow 3 times, followed by the right key once. (this takes some practice, so don`t stand too close to the TV).
4. Now you will see a new option on-screen named VERSION.
5. Enter into VERSION and select region code as required (which means the code free option).
