I originated the hack for the Aiwa combi unit. My mums has a date code of May 2002 on the back of it, so they may have changed the firmware. However this hack works for the LG dvd combi unit too, but, people have had problems with the way the file was burnt onto CD. Direct CD does not work. The firmware displayed something like below. MODEL : AIWA (AV50002) REGION No. : 2 CHIP I.D. : PANTERA II LE SERVO VER. : 20410a MICOM VER. : V1.01 MP
To display your firmware do the following after powering up and clicking the DVD button. 1.Press "Setup" on the remote, and highlight "TV Aspect"
2.Place the cursor on "16:9 Wide" and enter the following code on the Remote
1397139
3.Press "Enter" Hope this helps.

Does this work i am thinking about buying a combi pack and the aiwa hv-dh 1 k looks cool as. But would like to confirm this before i make a purchase.
