Hack for Matsui DVD 120.. Does it exist..??

SabreWulf (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 26th December 2000, 13:25

Just bought the machine this morning & was thinking of ordering some US DVD`s if the hack was available..

Do you have to have a Multi-region TV to view them on.. EG. NTSC..? I have a 29" Sony trinitron capable of switching formats... (4:3 - 16:9)
-*excuse my ignorance.. I`m new to this..!*-

Finally.. The Matrix... I`ve heard it`s a problem DVD for some players... I bought it & experienced some intermittent slow-down during scene changes... is this common for this title...?

Any help would be appreciated.....

Cheers

I`m thinking of buying one of these too, but only if a multi-region hack is available. Have you tried the hack for the Matsui DVD 110? (can be found on this site) Do other titles appart from the matrix run ok on it?

I have also bought this machine but the 110 hack did not work. The tray opened when the hack said it wouldn`t and the remote has no mute button. New hack anyone?

These two are from previous posts on these forums.
Lemme know if they work guys, I`d be very interested!!

>"Switch the power to the machine on
On the machine *NOT* the handset : Press STOP, EJECT & SKIP together for a few seconds.
This brings up a menu including region selection."

>"if you press menu 5 then open/close the n 9 then press mute"

I dont know if either of them work, but do please post to inform!

Tried the first suggestion without any success and was unable to try the second as there is no `mute` button on the handset.
In fact there is no `EJECT` button as such just an open-close control and the skip is a two button control ( back and forward ).

Some people call "open/Close" "Eject"
And try it with both skip buttons, one at a time, and it does say 2For a few seconds"

I don`t know if they work, they are from previous posts from others..sorry!

A hack for the 120 does exist.

With no disk in the drive turn the machine on using the power switch on the case, not control. Hold down `open/close` & `Stop` & `Scan Forward` together for a few seconds. A menu will appear with various options, one of them being `Region select`.

Enjoy!
