Page 1 of Philips DVDR 880 Hack Problem

Have used the hack supplied, which appeared to work OK, but - can now only play Region 1 discs.

I`ve tried Region 2 and Region 4, with no success.

Have reset the machine to factory settings, still Region 1 only, and have tried the player/recorder handset change, no success.

Any ideas on how to get back to Region 2 (or make multi region) ?

Download the latest firmware update from http://www.dvdplusrw.org/video/firmware_download.html

Burn the image to cdr and insert the cdr into your dvdr880/890/098/990 etc. If your player doesn`t already have it, you should now have region free, 2.5 and 6 hour record times!

Hmm, not sure! I do on my 890. Other people have said they have 6 hours on their 880`s - but I can`t remember where I read it.

If you install the latest version, you can always downgrade if you don`t like it - don`t know why though.
