What are people supposed to do if the company that tampered with their DVD players goes out of business? Is this just slightly more likely to happen than Toshiba going under?

Talk about a pessimistic hypothetical question ?
If you stick to the big guns (eg Techtronics, et al) it would be unlikely they`d go under.
Are you speaking from experience here, or just being the devil`s advocate ?
