if anyone wants a cheap hack for this model:
1. Place an area one discinto the system.
2. Switch the system off(disc inserted) and unplug from wall socket
3.Wait about 20 secounds and then replug the system back into the wall socket.
4. The system will then read straight from the disc (as with a pc) and play your area one disc without spending a penny!!

Careful Pete, if this is like a PC DVD Rom, you may find it`ll "Freeze" after 5 or 25 resets/changes.

Most PC drives will lock after 5, Philips players locked after 25 until the recent RC6 hack discovery.

Here`s hoping your`s doesn`t and can be added to the long line of multi region players! :o)
