RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
I`ve just got my MX3800D hacked and it appears this hack works for a new range of players / surround sound systems.
Press "Play 159 Play" resets the counter to 25, and then you get the total blue screen for 2 seconds then back to normal.
For region 1 discs:-
"Play 159 111 002 08 Play" the counter in the top left increments to 01
and the screen goes blue for 2 seconds then back to normal.
For region 2 discs:-
"Play 159 221 002 08 Play" the counter in the top left increments to 02
and the screen goes blue for 2 seconds then back to normal.
Then press the "Play 159 Play" and the counter shows 25 and the blue screen etc etc.
Next change to a region 1 and the counter starts again at 01
If this does not work change the 002 for 003 as the following seems to apply
001=LX3000D/LX3500
002=MX3600/MX3800D
003=LX7000 plus maybe others.
Remember to reset the counters after each change.
RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
Hi ive just bought one of these and applied the RC6 hack and can now play region 1 discs, RCE tested with Hollow Man and it works, just ignore the dashes not coming up and see if it works for you
RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
Thanks for the message.Can you please give me the idiot`s guide to the RC6 hack?! (Is this the same as the 750 hack as I`ve tried that and it doesnt work!
RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
The hack i tried uses a One4all remote, instructions on this site
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/jeroenverhaar/en/index.htm ,when i tried using the remote i didnt get the counter in the corner so i tried that, even though no dashes came up it seems to work, see how it goes, all the other hack i tried didnt work and i think this is a genuine philips product as the background is the same as other philips

RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
Thanks for getting back to me and also for verhaar`s website address.Unfortunately,my rather primitive set top box net browser did not allow me access to the section on this website that I needed.As it obviously worked for you (and will for me)would you please reply with the basic process.
THANKS A LOT!

OneForAll (URC7560) (many thanks to Allan Verth)
The RC6,4,235 code can be sent using a OneForAll universal remote. To do so:
The remote should be set up to control the DVD (setup code 0539).
Then press the DVD button
Press the Magic button
Press 085. After the 085 the familiar dashes on the front panel display should appear.
And now enter the code (if you want, you can do that with the standard remote):
222 222 005 255 followed by PLAY"
Also check the region hack page at this site, same info

RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
Thanks for the reply mate.
This looks suspiciously like 750 hack territory and I`ve tried that with a one for all 4 and it was useless!
My only remaining options are to visit my local computer emporium and download onto CD-R or to try the remote hack again using the one for all 6.
If you have any more advice,please feel free!I have a cupboard full of Region 1 discs that I would like to play rather than sell!

Many thanks mate! Bought a one for all 6 remote today and it worked a treat!Do you know if I need to worry about the number of different region transactions i.e resetting counter to 25 and so forth? Also,any info on macrovision disabling?
