Region hack for Philips DVDR 890

jpwf (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 1st September 2002, 16:38

I have just completed the region Philips 750 hack on my new Philips DVDR 890 using the one4all 6 remote method and code
121 212 005 255. The machine now recognises region 1 NTSC discs but plays them in grainy black and white only - I guess this is the NTSC signal - however I had no problems with my remote hacked Wharfedale 750. I have a Philips 28PW6332 TV - any ideas?

You need to have fullly pinned scart lead from your DVD player to the RGB scart input on your TV (There are two inputs only one RGB input) to get a full colour picture

Hi thanks for the reply - yeah I figured out the difference between the 2 scart sockets some time ago.

Hope your problems are now solved!I`m writing with regard to another topic in the hope that you can help me out.Sky moviemax is premiering "The Testimony of Taliesin Jones" at 6pm on Monday (tonight). My nephew played the title role and I`m desperate for a decent copy.I would be prepared to send you a replacement blank disc for your trouble.
