hi just thinking about getting a pacific 1002 from asda, i have read it can be set to region free, but can you turn off the macrovision ?? also can it play vcd`s ?? many thanks .
or is there another machine in this price bracket worth getting ?.

ninja_geezer surely you could sneek into the plant and steal their secret codes? lol nah only jokin. try searching for ALT`s post he gave an excellent post on making the Pacific 1002 region free, although no macro hack yet.

here u go m8, try this...........i`ve done the same hack to 4 different 1002 players and it works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >1. Press "setup"
>2. Press "1" for region 1 or press "2" for region 2...press "7" for bypass >Region code.

good luck bud, just keep tryin it, its best if u have a region 1 dvd to test it with coz it doesn`t tell u if its hacked or not!!!
