anserwing my own question weird
to make the medion 9750 dvd pplayer from aldis region free
1 make sure the player is in standby
2 press standby
3 press open drive
4 press this sequence of numbers 89269
the last numebr in the sequence is for the region 9 will make it region free if you replaced it with 1 it would only read region 1 dvds so best to use 9
5 insert region 1 disc (this is not neseccary but its nice to see it work
6 close door
should know play all dvds apart from some new ones ie the patriot
i also tried vcd and mp3 and all working ok also cd-wr

RE: Is the medion 7950 any good?
Having seen the price and the specs on the side of the box, the question is what is the picture quality like? Is there any blocking, layer change faults or artefacts. Please let me know as I havent seen a review of it anywhere.
RE: Is the medion 7950 any good?
i think it uses the vtrek firmware
picture quality is quite good
especially for a dvd at this price
while not up to the standards of some top end machines
it easily as good a 200 quid efforts out there
and with mp3 playback to and 5.1 sound it a bit of a bargain espaecially when you make it region free
RE: here is the medion 7950 hack
do you know if this hack disables macrovision or can it be disabled some other way
Samantha
RE: here is the medion 7950 hack
It doesn`t appear to. I would be interested in knowing if there is a way of disabling macrovision to.
RE: here is the medion 7950 hack
How many did Aldi have when you guys purchased your players ??
Jack
RE: here is the medion 7950 hack
One store had two, and another store one left, I was told the first store had six to start and would not be getting any more as it was a one off offer
My wife works for ALDI, and these units were bought in as a one off loss leader for £180 each ?
Medion manufacture PCs in Germany and supply them to Tesco over here, and also sell re-badged HP CD writers/printers, they have recently opened an office in Swindon
