Hmm.. is it related to the Samsung DVD-S22x, or is it something else entirely?
Have you tried the standard Samsung hack on it?

Hi Mike, this is a new beast, nothing like a samsung. It comes out of the Funei (if thats spelt right) factory.

has no eeprom chip on the board !! so one of the new generation of players ... no-one knows how to do anything with this yet !!

did anyone get any further with this. I am stuck. I bought it because my alba 103 would not handle my home movie dvd-r`s. this hitachi works superbly on them. however i have a number of region 1`s which the alba handled but i now can`t watch so i am desparate to know if there is a hack for it?

Hi di you ever manage to crack this one. I need to do so before my wife kills me... I bought this player to replace the old one and since then she cant play her reg 1 discs!
